POLE AND BACK EXPEDITION

The Expedition

Pole and Back is a world-first solo, unsupported return ski expedition from the Antarctic coast to the Geographic South Pole and back. In 2027, Sam Cox will travel approximately 2,700 kilometres alone over 90 days, carrying everything from the start and relying solely on preparation, discipline, and sustained performance.

The Inspiration

Inspired by the purity of early Antarctic exploration, the project is a modern throwback to the heroic era, a full coastal-to-pole-to-coastal return completed under human power.

Beyond the expedition, Pole and Back forms the foundation for human performance research, professional documentation, and a youth development pathway designed to turn inspiration into structured opportunity.
