Guided by an experienced instructor, you'll embark on a three-day expedition into the breathtaking landscapes of northern Sweden, where you'll learn the fundamentals of winter camping and polar travel in a safe and supportive environment.
From mastering cooking freeze-dried meals to navigating pristine snow-covered terrain on skis, our expert-led course empowers you with the confidence and knowledge to thrive in the frozen wilderness.

This course is also suitable for individuals conducting a Last Degree expedition and is endorsed by ALE.

Before you depart on your adventure we will call to discuss your preparations and answer any of your questions.

Vehicle transfers to and from the Umeå or Skellefteå airport.

You will be accommodated in Allégården, the Jådåt Adventure winter training centre. You will be in a shared room where you’ll get to know your course mates and begin bonding before you share a tent in pairs on the mini-expedition.
Allégården, our amazing winter home, is located in rural northern Sweden between two frozen lakes and is our home for the course.
Allégården facilities include sauna, gym, dining room, private meeting spaces, and ski in and ski out accessibility.

When in Allégården you will enjoy full board home-cooked meals of a continental breakfast, hearty lunch and home cooked evening meal with a traditional Swedish dinner on the final night.
There will also be ample Fika breaks, which is a traditional Swedish coffee and sweet treat time to connect with the other course guests.
All rations during your expedition are also provided.

We’ll provide you:
Full sleeping system (sleep mat, sleeping bag, bedding bag).
Skis, poles, daysack, and pulk.
Team equipment (tent, stoves, cookware, fuel).
Safety, medical, communication and navigation equipment.
And what we don’t include:

We recommend flying early to Stockholm Arlanda and then catching a connecting flight to Umeå or to Skellefteå.
You can fly to Stockholm Arlanda from Manchester, London Gatwick, and London Heathrow.

You will need clothing suitable for temperatures down to -20C. and robust walking boots to fit our universal ski bindings.
We also have limited warm clothing for rental if you need an extra thick jacket but don’t own one!
We will provide you with a thorough kit list on booking.
