Fat biking offers a form of cycling that uses specially designed bikes with oversized tyres to ride on soft and unstable terrain - opening up wild, remote environments that regular bikes can’t reach.

Where

Swedish Lapland - You will be hosted at Allégården, the Jådåt Adventure winter headquarters. Here will be home for the week. It has amazing and immediate access to two frozen lakes, accommodation, dining facilities, and a sauna.

Price

£2,595 - Which includes accommodation, food, instruction, specialist cold-weather equipment, airport transfers, and fat bike hire.

March 2026 - Northern Sweden

Bygdeträsk, Västerbotten County

Five days fat biking in Northern Sweden, progressing from day rides on iced roads and frozen lakes to a final fat bike excursion, staying overnight in a traditional remote Swedish wooden hut.

  • The Biking Viking

    James Benson-King

    Fat Bike Extraordinaire and Instructor

    Benson, also know as the Biking Viking, is an adventurer, event speaker, and endurance cyclist best known for cycling over 20,000 miles from Alaska to Argentina. Benson now channels his passion for resilience, grit, and exploration into empowering others - both on stage and on bike trials.

    He will be in Sweden as part of his training to become the first person to cycle solo unsupported to the South Pole in 2026.

    Sam Cox

    Chief Instructor and Cold Weather Specialist

    Sam is one of the co-founders of Jådåt Adventure, expedition leader, and former Royal Marines Commando. His passion for the cold weather environment began on his first trip to Norway in 2014 and grew into an attempted Antarctic crossing in 2023.

    From Antarctic expeditions to remote wilderness trips, he brings deep experience, calm leadership, and a love for helping people experience wild untouched places.
